STORY

The name Freya comes from Norse mythology, where she was the most renowned goddess, being in charge of love, fertility, battle, and death. She rides a chariot pulled by two cats. Like the Egyptian goddess Isis and the Greek Aphrodite, Freyja traveled through the world seeking a lost husband and weeping tears of gold.

This piece of old wood was discovered during a hike in Bucegi Mountains, around the peak of Saint Ana rocks. It was part of an old beech tree which was still standing.

It was taken in a cold winter afternoon, with lots of snow and mild wind. Fresh bear foot tracks were nearby.

CRAFTING PROCESS

This piece was not cut from a living tree.

This old wood needed cutting, cleaning, washing and brushing.
