Sirsir’s Story
Sirsir, a Babylonian and Akkadian god and the patreon deity of mariners and boatmen, is a good one to call out the next time you decide to take a cruise or a river ferry.
This piece of old fir tree wood was found in the forest of Saint Ana Gorges, in the Bucegi Mountains, on a winter evening. It’s one of the places I hold most dear to my heart. Moreso, I strongly believe that a bear was nearby, although I could not see or hear him. I just felt it.
The Crafting Process
This piece of wood was not cut from a living tree. It was found dry, on the ground.
It needed cleaning, washing, brushing and sanding. It was also treated against harmful insects, pests and mold.
