Kitsune’s Story
Kitsune, literally fox in Japanese, refers to mischievous fox spirits in Japanese folklore. They are a type of yokai: creatures with supernatural abilities.
This peace of old beech tree was found in the Buzău Mountains, close to Ivănețu Mount, on a windy autumn day. There is a long and beautiful stretch of hills and valleys which are home to many old beech trees. Over the hills there are little known paths which may take one to marvelous dreamlands.
The Crafting Process
This piece of wood was not cut from a living tree. It was found dry, on the ground.
It needed cleaning, washing, brushing and sanding. It was also treated against harmful insects, pests and mold.
