STORY

Perun is the Slavic God of Thunder. In Slavic pagan mythology, Perun (written in Cyrillic: Перун) is the highest god of the pantheon and the god of thunder and lightning just like Germanic Thor or Greek Zeus.

This piece of wood was found in a wild part of Bucegi Mountains, called Valea Babei. It was a warm autumn evening, and, while everything was still, I’ve noticed a large Barn Owl staring at me, while I was slowly moving through the forest. After it flew away, I found this dry wood underneath the tree where the owl was resting.

CRAFTING PROCESS

This fragment was not cut from a living tree. It was found dry, on the ground.

This piece of wood needed cleaning, washing, brushing and sanding.

It was also treated against harmful insects, pests and mold.
