Perun’s Story

Perun is the Slavic God of Thunder. In Slavic pagan mythology, Perun (Перун) is the highest god of the pantheon and the god of thunder and lightning just like Germanic Thor or Greek Zeus.

This piece of wood was found in a wild part of the Bucegi Mountains, called Valea Babei on a warm autumn evening. While slowly moving through the forest, I noticed a large Barn Owl staring at me. I found this piece underneath the tree where it was resting.

The Crafting Process

This piece of wood was not cut from a living tree. It was found dry, on the ground.

It needed cleaning, washing, brushing and sanding. It was also treated against harmful insects, pests and mold.
