Rhea’s Story

Rhea is the second largest moon of Saturn and the smallest body in the Solar System. In Greek Mythology she is always a goddess, the Titaness daughter of the earth goddess Gaia and the sky god Uranus, Gaia’s son. She is the older sister of Cronus, who was also her consort.

This piece of beech tree was part of a tree knob which grew in the high heels of Buzau area, near Mount Ivanetu. It’s a place with special energy and rich nature. One of the reasons it stayed like that are the bad access roads and the remoteness of the villages. I found this tree during a hike around the sandstone boulders in a cold autumn day. Up in the sky there were sounds of wild geese passing by. Was that even real?

The Crafting Process

This piece of wood was not cut from a living tree. It was found dry, on the ground.

It needed cleaning, washing, brushing and sanding. It was also treated against harmful insects, pests and mold.
