Skuld’s Story
Skulda is, in Greek mythology, the most feared of the Norns, the one who cuts the thread of our lives. However, she’s responsible not only for the time of our death, but is also involved in marking all the significant moments of change in our lives, such as giving birth, changing careers, meeting and losing lovers.
This willow tree wood was found in the Danube Delta, on the shores of an old water channel. The channel is an old belt of the Danube, built in the 80s as part of a grandiose communist plan that aimed the modernization of the Delta. Fortunately the project never came to an end.
The Crafting Process
This piece of wood was not cut from a living tree. It was found dry, on the ground.
It needed cleaning, washing, brushing and sanding. It was also treated against harmful insects, pests and mold.
