Kelpie, is the Scots name given to a shape-shifting water spirit inhabiting the lochs and pools of Scotland.

This piece of beech root was discovered during a forest exploration deep inside Vânturiș Valley in Bucegi Mountains. It was recovered from the surroundings of the river, where it was coiled up among some other old wood. It was taken on a rainy spring day, with full sunshine and fresh wind.

This fragment was not cut from a living tree. It was found already fallen.

The old wood needed cleaning, washing, brushing and sanding. It was also treated against harmful insects, pests and mold.
