STORY

The name Ainsel comes from Scottish Folk Tales, where she was a small beautiful fairy girl in shape of a little figure, about the size of a child’s doll, who descended chimneys, and alighted on the hearth.

This piece of wood was discovered during a hike in Bucegi Mountains, close to Poiana Țapului, next to an old limestone quarry. It was part of a little fir tree aerial root which was found fallen next to an animal path through the forest.

It was taken in a quiet winter afternoon, with not so much snow and no wind at all. Fresh stag foot tracks were nearby.

CRAFTING PROCESS

This piece was not cut from a living tree.

This little piece of wood needed cutting, cleaning, washing and brushing.
